Job description
If you have ambition, talent and drive, consider a promising career with Canada Post. We are currently looking for an on-call Post Office Assistant who takes a customer-focused approach when providing counter service to customers.


Note: The ideal candidate should live in the community in question. Applicants who do not live in the community of the post office may be considered on an as-needed basis.

 

Professional responsibilities
sell postal products and services to businesses and the general public;
sort, distribute and correctly process mail;
provide customers with information and forms;
deal with delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems quickly and completely.

 

Job responsibilities (continued)
Eligibility criteria
High school diploma or provincial equivalent, or experience in business administration
Training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
Understanding of standard accounting or post office systems
Physical fitness to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 lbs, push or pull boxes, sort mail and stand for long periods of time
Flexibility to be available for temporary on-call duties

Note: The ideal candidate should live in the community in question. Candidates living within a 50 km radius of the post office may be considered depending on demand.


As part of the selection process, successful candidates will be required to complete a security screening process.
