Education Requirements: 3 or 4 year Diploma in Graphic Design from Recognized Institution
Experience: At least 5 years direct job experience
Pay: 62,000 – 72,000 /yr base salary OR commensurate with experience
Location: Iqaluit, NU

Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Iqaluit Office Manager and the Creative Director this mid level design position requires a self-motivated, highly creative individual. Must manage tight deadlines and have an excellent understanding of graphic design principles and industry standard software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) on a Mac platform. Will work closely on projects with other creative team members, but also be able to manage projects from start to finish independently. Must have experience creating artwork for print and web applications. Will be required to become familiar with all aspects of the business including (but not limited to) administration and clerical, illustration, digital video production, writing and research, managing budgets, liaising with clients and subcontractors, driving a company vehicle and travelling including client meetings and training.
 

Duties:
Study design briefs and determine requirements
Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
Develop illustrations, logos and other designs
Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design
Amend designs after feedback
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
