Success of the Newcomer Welcome Day in Iqaluit: More than 70 Participants Gathered!

On September 20, 2024, more than 70 people gathered at the Franco Centre to celebrate the arrival of newcomers in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

This event, organized by Carrefour Nunavut, allowed participants to discover valuable resources for their integration, while building ties with the local community. The evening began with a presentation of local businesses and organizations, including the firefighters, who presented their services and recruitment needs. It was a great opportunity for newcomers to better understand the resources available to them.

Participants also had the chance to taste "country food", a unique culinary discovery for many, allowing them to better understand and appreciate the local traditions of Nunavut. The event concluded with the presentation of welcome certificates, symbolizing the integration of newcomers into the welcoming Francophone community of Iqaluit.
